Keisuke KomadaIn the world of baton twirling, Keisuke Komada is a legend. He has broken every record and has created a standard in the sport that is not likely to be matched in the years and decades to come. Komada, from Japan, began twirling at 5 years old and became a member of the Japanese World Team when he was 10. He went on to win the gold medal in the junior men’s category at the world championships for five straight years from 2002-2006. He culminated with a final win that earned him several “perfect 10.0” marks...an accomplishment no junior had ever done before.
Komada moved into the senior men’s category and took home three consecutive world championship titles in 2012, 2014 and 2016 (world championships are currently held biannually). In his last world competition in 2016, Komada received perfect “10’s” from all judges in both technical merit and artistic expression, a feat no one has ever accomplished in the sport. His performance received a standing ovation and praise from the twirling community around the world. Not only was Komada successful on the world stage, he also dominated in his home country.
Komada has a passion for teaching baton twirling and dance. He has become a highly coveted clinician and performer around the world and Artisports is so grateful to have him as a master clinician during the 2021 Summer Camp. |
