Karrissa WimberleyKARRISSA WIMBERLEY is a baton twirling phenom from Tallahassee, Florida. She is an incredibly decorated athlete winning 21 World gold medals in solo, two-baton, artisic twirl, team, and rhythmic. She has competed and performed in countries all across the world and is a highly desired clinician due to her incredible knowledge in all events.
Karrissa comes from a family of twirlers and has always loved twirling and having fun with it. She has coined the phrase "Play Baton" and often incorporates this playful nature while teaching or twirling herself. She also has an extensive background in color guard and blends the two artistic sports together in her creative tricks and flips. Karrissa was the feature twirler at Florida State University where she received her bachelors degree and University of Georgia where she received her master's degree. She was a finalist for the AAU Sullivan Award becoming the first baton twirler to do so, and she continues to bring awareness to the sport of baton twirling through her tik tok videos and social media. Karrissa currently lives in Tallahassee where she is a teacher and is co-director of the National Champion team, Intrepid. We are so thrilled to have Karrissa at our first inaugural Artisports Camp. |
